NHK Enterprises, Inc. is a content company.

We produce nearly 20,000 NHK broadcast programs each year, while also creating, developing, and expanding content across a diverse range of fields, including films, high-definition exhibition videos, stage productions, concerts, large-scale events, and rapidly evolving digital media.

Through our network of seven regional offices across Japan, we are also focusing on services that contribute to local communities, while continuing to take on the challenge of developing new technologies that further enrich content. Our strengths also include the extensive expertise we have cultivated through the domestic and international distribution of NHK content, as well as our team of specialists in rights clearance, which is essential to content development and expansion. As a member of the United Nations SDG Media Compact, many of the content and businesses we are involved in are closely connected to the promotion of the SDGs.

In December 2022, we became a member of the newly established NHK Media Holdings. By strengthening collaboration with the group companies under its umbrella, we aim to deliver content that is more diverse, compelling, and uniquely representative of the NHK Group.

We believe that content has the power to move people’s hearts and help them look forward, even in difficult times.

In today’s society, where uncertain information is overflowing, we hope to contribute to the development of democracy by providing reliable information and diverse perspectives. We also seek to become a force for creating new and diverse cultures by exploring the world of knowledge in depth, and by offering high-quality entertainment and exciting, inspiring experiences.

Through content, we enrich the lives of those who encounter it. We contribute to society and local communities. This is the vision we, NHK Enterprises, strive to realize.

The word “enterprises” means “companies.” At the same time, it also carries the sense of boldly taking on new endeavors and challenges, without fearing change or difficulty. This spirit of adventure is part of NEP’s DNA.

Precisely because we live in a time when uncertainty about the future is spreading across the world, we will continue to step into unknown territory without fear, create compelling content unlike anything before, and share it with Japan and the world.
