Our company is a core, comprehensive content corporation of the NHK group, providing support for diverse needs from the planning and production of programs for broadcast to film-making, video displays for exhibitions, planning, organizing, setting up and making digital content for exhibitions etc., event management, production of DVD’s, blu-ray discs, character mascots etc., program-related publication and other copyright business, foreign program purchases and program sales abroad, and international video content business.
2011 is a transformative year for Japanese broadcasting. NHK will broadcast on two satellite channels from April and then, in July, we at last move into full digitalization. The speed of change is also stepping up in the overall media environment. We also have to respond in various ways and are resolved as the new, comprehensive content corporation for the digital era to catalyze the tremendous individual skills of every member of staff and develop the projects, reinforce our production capabilities and provide multi-faceted support to NHK, the public broadcaster. We are further resolved to develop ever fresher and more valuable content as a company that always contributes to society.
